The Right Backdrop

Welcome to my new series "Capturing Fresno" where I use my experience as a wedding photographer to highlight different, unique, and beautiful places to have a photo session. Whether you're looking for a place to celebrate your engagement or to kickoff your elopement, I've got your next spot. And bonus, it's local!

San Joaquin River Parkway

The San Joaquin River Parkway is more than just a scenic backdrop. It's a 22-mile stretch of protected land designed to preserve and restore the natural beauty of the San Joaquin River. Managed by the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust, the area connects trails, parks, and wildlife habitats along one of California's most vital rivers.

It's centerpiece, the River Center, sits on the historic 1890's ranch house property. Both the ranch house and the property have been restored. The grounds surrounding the ranch house include a rose garden, an orchard, a vineyard, and picnic area.

A couple relaxes on a bench at San Joaquin River Parkway in Fresno California. the woman in a pink dress smiles at the man resting his head on her lap.

Why I Love It As a Fresno Wedding Photographer

What I love most about San Joaquin River Parkway is how it feels tucked away from the city. A quiet, peaceful spot to take photos of two people in love. The spirit of conservation can be felt in the way this place is taken care of. It's like stepping into a little bubble where you slow down for a moment to hear the birds and the wind rustle the leaves of the trees. I reccomend this spot for any couple who wants to embrace the quiet, steady, natural beauty San Joquin River Parkway has to offer.
