Intimate Wedding, Big Personality

People often talk about small weddings as the "budget-friendly" option, but honestly, I feel like that misses the point. As a wedding photographer based in Fresno, some of the most meaningful, personal, and joy-filled weddings I've photographed have been right in someone's backyard. They're less about putting on a show and more about connection, creativity, and those unexpected details that make a wedding unforgettable.

A Wedding that Felt Like Them

Kaitlyn and David's intimate celebration in Fresno wasn't trying to be trendy or traditional—it was just them. Kaitlyn's first look was for a room filled with her parents, step-parents, siblings, and bridesmaids. David wore a full collar boutonniere that looked like something out of a fashion editorial. A sycamore tree was the centerpiece of their ceremony as they stood underneath its branches decked with white chiffon and hanging candles. And after the first dances, Kaitlyn surprised David with official knighthood (yep, sword, certificate, and all!). More than wedding details they were reflections of who they are and why they adore each other.

Guests Who Understand the Assignment

What stood out just as much as the couple's style was how their people showed up for them. Their guests weren't just there for the timeline—they were along for the ride, happy to be part of something honest and true to Kaitlyn and David. There was laughter, hugs, a few shed tears, and a whole lot of love. The kind of energy that makes you feel like everyone gets it.

The Kind of Day That Stays With You

Honestly, I have so many favorite moments from this day it's hard to choose. But that's exactly why I love photographing intimate weddings. They're interesting. They're alive with personality. And as a wedding photographer, that's what I live for—the unexpected, the personal, the unique. They're the kind of celebration that stays with you long after the cake is gone, and exactly the kind of work I want to keep doing.
